WEEK 6- 9 February 2021

Today, we learnt more about Makey Makey, however first, we had a recap of what Makey Makey was. We were briefed and shown examples of actions such as rotate, swipe and touch, we could do to interact with interactive posters with the help of devices similar to Makey Makey or even Makey Makey itself by mapping.

I was quite fascinated by the wide range of things we were able to do that I was just unaware of. I really liked one of the video examples shown that when someone touched a poster, through their phone would musical notes play out. It looked so cool and futuristic, as if something that came out of a futuristic movie. Another one I found super interesting is an example called Bottlogues, which are glass bottles, when opened, would relay recored messages to mimic a genie in a bottle. I liked how they took something fictional and turned it into reality.

One of the examples of interactive objects by using bottles to play noises

In general, Makey Makey is able to transform objects into interactive interface, as everything is translated into keys from a keyboard without the hassle of using engineering devices.

After that, we had a hands on experience with Makey Makey. It was really cool and my group tried to team up to play a game on the computer using the Makey Makey.

This lead us to our thought process on how to link Makey Makey to our assignment which was to make an interactive prototype.
